Lazo and the Radikals - An amazing Tribute to Bob Marley

Juno Award Winner Lazo , was born in Castle Bruce on the beautiful island of Dominica in the Caribbean. He began his career at an early age with a band called Black Blood (their very first album charted number two in Dominica and received extensive air play in the Caribbean). Lazo has since toured extensively in the United States, Canada, and t he Caribbean sharing the stage with artist such as Maxi Priest, Burning Spear, Third World, and the Wailers, to name a few.

Relocating to Toronto he created the Lazo Band , releasing the well received EP, Satisfaction Guaranteed. Lazo subsequently produced four CDs: Impetus (which received the honor of being the first independent album to chart on Vancouver's Z95.3 TOP 30) for the Washington D.C. based RAS records, becoming the first Canadian artist to be signed by the label, Something Real (nominated for a Juno Award in 1995), Heart and Soul, winner of the 2000 Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording, Love is on Your Sid e (the hit single),also nominated for a Juno Award, and Children of the Palm Race.

We will surely be hearing a lot more about this consummate performer and charismatic artist who, against all odds left his small, beautiful island of Dominica , on a hot day in December 1979, only to arrive in Ottawa , Canada on a cold snow-storm night and made a name for himself in the world. It is worth noting that Lazo also holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto, Canada. This shaker and mover plans to make a difference in the world, musically and politically.
